*Juman Johnstone Kamuzu Banda dies Mysteriously hours after a meeting at Sanjika Palace*
Reliable sources confided in us that there have been a scramble for Juman Banda between UTM and DPP as a runningmate to Chilima and Mutharika respectively.
Juman Banda has been claiming that he is the son of the first President of Malawi, Dr H. Kamuzu Banda, from Kasungu.
Chilima believed that Juman, having Kasungu and Kamuzu roots, he would haved helped UTM pernetrate Kasungu and Central Region.
Juman was scheduled to travel back to Lilongwe on Saturday Morning for a meeting with Vice President Chilima in the Evening at his Area 12 Residence after his trip from abroad. Juman became a threat to Michael Usi who was tipped to be the possible runningmate to Dr Chilima of UTM. Muchael Usi is supported by Noel Masangwi and Louis Ngalande. While Patricia kaliati, Calista Mutharika and Newton Kambala supported the idea of having Juman Kamuzu Banda to be runningmate to Dr Chilima.
On the other hand, Jumani was considered as a possible runningmate to President Peter Mutharika (APM) because he comes from the central region which is MCP’s stronghold. This week he drove himself from Lilongwe to Sanjika where he met APM.
This angered Nankhumwa, who is DPP’s Vice President.
Nankhumwa who has high ambitions to be APM’s runningmate is also accused to be the one who blocked Atupele from being picked as runningmate. This made APM consider picking someone neutral. Juman is said to have been the last hurdle into Nankhumwa’s ambitions. Ben Phiri and his team objected to have Nankhumwa as a runningmate, they preferred Atupele Muluzi. But after throwing Muluzi away, they then influenced Mutharika to consider Juman.
The question is who went to act first, between Nankhumwa and Team of DPP and Michael Usi and team of UTM?
OR Who played the *tiluze tonse* between DPP’s Mutharika and the Ben Phiris and UTM’s Saulos Chilima and the Masangwis?
Juman died of a heart failure called Hypoglyemia at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre on the night of Friday, 25 January 2018, barely 10 days to the presentation of Presidential Nomination Papers.
A postmortem had been ordered to establish the detailed cause of the death.
Almost all presidential aspirants to the May 21 Elections except Dr Lazarus Chakwera of MCP and Ras Chikomeni Chirwa, an independent candidate, are yet to name their runningmates.
